Hi Charlie, I'm not a realtor, but I do have a home for sell and was going to check it out on this site. I saw your question and couldn't help but want to answer you. I relocated to this area in '99 and love it. Am only moving now due to need of aging parents and health. There are many things to do in the area itself from museums, art galleries, festivals at various times of the year, lots of shopping, nature areas and state parks, & sports of all kinds (even "football" which we call soccer over here, of course. There is an ice complex, some roller skating rinks, many bowling alleys, if any of those might be activities you love. There are also several venues for plays and other theatre presentations. If you like antiques, there are plenty of options to fill that need in the area. Arts and craft options can also be found. Then, if you include the regional area, there are vineyards, orchards, the Jack Daniels Distillery, lakes, caves, waterfalls, rivers, and much more. As to your question about city planning, I'm sorry I can't answer that. But I can say Huntsville is a growning city. The whole county, Madison, is not stagnant. There are always new opportunities for growth. As for housing, you can find the gamut, from luxury areas to homey neighborhoods. You can even find places with the country feel within a few minutes of town center. I hope you love the Huntsville area as much as I have.
