GREAT NEWS. We no longer have a contract with this guy. I called him this afternoon (after he told my husband he would not get to list our house until early next week) and told him we were very unhappy with his lack of interest in selling our house and wished to terminate our contract. He agreed and within thirty minutes my neighbor show him pull up, drop our key off in the mailbox, and pull up his sign. He is also mailing a mutual release form for signatures. We have already contacted another real estate company to list our house and this time we will know more questions to ask and be better prepared for another written contract. Guys all of you have been soooo nice and helpful!! Great job! - Thu Aug 21 2008, 23:08
We live in Alabama. I have tried to reread our contract, but it is hard to read and I do not see anything pertaining to his commentment, only ours. Tomorrow will be two weeks and I feel that this is a good showing of what we can expect from him. Like I said he has only put a sign in front of our house. No MLS listing, no signs in neighborhood, no pics taken, no lockbox. I looked again on his website, BarBham.com and Realtor.com and do not see our house listed. Could it still be out there somewhere else? We would like to terminate our contract. Can I do this strickly on his lack of interest and not doing his job? Can he make me stick to the 6 month contract? How easy is it to break a contract? Will he make it difficult on us and can we quickly use another realtor? I have never heard of anyone being this lack in listing a house. Guys, I so much appreciate your advise. Thanks again!! - Thu Aug 21 2008, 11:10
Another thing to add is, our agent is also the owner and broker of the real estate company. I don't think I have anyone to go for my issue. Thanks guys for the great advise so far. - Thu Aug 21 2008, 05:21
