Thanks to all of you for your answers. I advertised it as a rental and/or lease option to buy. They responded directly to my ad calling me for a rental. The people renting it are in no position to buy and I am in no position to turn them down as I own another home and winter is coming. The rent wont cover the payments, but I don't feel I have a choice.
I want to therefore take the property off the market. I contacted our agent and he wants a copy of the rental agreement, $2000 in costs and a cancelled contract. He must be charging by the hour for his time (at $200 per hour) since this is the only way I can see him billing us so high with the amt. of work done.. - Sat Oct 4 2008, 11:50
We did all the work for this listing! We held our own open houses, hired the photographer and extensively advertised it. So I do know what the agent did (almost nothing). I know my agreement was with the broker so hopefully he will release us from this contract! - Fri Oct 3 2008, 21:03
