Thanks again for all of your expertise and support. Things are at a stand-still with the house. I was able to talk with my realtor about my concerns and I think he is just as frustrated with the "market" as we are, but still no movement. The realtor luncheon was a bust, only one realtor showed. I have not had any showings in weeks. We had two lookers about 5 weeks ago, both with reasons they were "looking", just not in positions to buy. Whatever, why go look then, if you don't have the money to buy and still have not listed your own house. I thought those "unqualified" people were screened. No harm in having others take a look, I guess. He did "relaunch" the listing last week-of course with the worst 6 pictures of the house. I asked him to change them and he is going to "look into it". I am thinking about just pulling the listing for now. I am tired of pushing this cart up the hill. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and I am a trusting and nonconfrontational person. I like to live peacefully and for the most part ask for what I want and need. I can be very easily persuaded by comments like "the market is so bad now", "it is just not a good time to sell a house",...yadayada. I am just going to do better research for the next realtor. Again, I thank you all for your help and support. I recognize many of your names from your ads and you all seem to be very good at what you do. Heck, you are giving me your time and knowledge. Thanks and keep up the hard work for your clients. It is tough enough to sell homes, right now, MLS is not selling them, it is people. So please try and stay true to your profession, people, not property. Thanks again! - Fri Oct 10 2008, 10:52
I want to thank everyone that have offered their professional suggestions. While we have taken into account the many great responses, unfortunately, we are still frustrated. At this point the communication with our realtor is very minimal, takes us two or three calls to get a call back and he is not in town very often. He asks US if anyone looked at the home and he even left me a message saying he did not do a follow-up call with the only person since July that came and looked. We have since found out they really like the house, but the realtor is not "pushing". I understand, I don't like pushy either, but how about a little more enthusiasm. He held a "realtor luncheon" and only one realtor showed, it was someone I invited personally, thanks Mike. We are not trying to make a bunch of money, just not the greedy type, but a job change requires us to sell this property. We signed a listing agreement until the end of November, I guess we will just wait it out and in the mean time, shop for someone with a little better communication and drive to help us sell this place. Again, thanks so much for your suggestions. I do think we need some better photos, and possibly to relaunch the listing, which my realtor suggested almost 4 weeks ago, but he has yet to bring by the contract and actually do this. UGH, I guess he was just not the right "fit" for us. Thanks again! - Sun Sep 21 2008, 07:07
