How do I find comparable prices on a certain home in Decatur, IL without a Realtor?

why would you want to move to Decatur in the first place?? It is known as "Crack Ville" to most of its residents. There is a huge drug and crime problem in Decatur and has been for years. There is a lot of violence and street gangs also. The unemployment rate is high and housing costs are outrageous unless you want to live in a bad area of town , which is most of the city at this point. If you stay on the outskirts of Decatur, you might be able to delay the crime reaching you for a short time, but be careful....I lived in Decatur for 48 years before I was able to escape to a small country town 35 miles away. I still have to work in Decatur though, so I am aware of the current issues with the city. - Mon Mar 31 2008, 13:19
