Unless builder has accepted your offfer officially, signed the contract and you got a copy of that contract, builder can take offer from any buyer. I suspect builder does it all the time. A buyer puts an offer - in this market lower than what builder is asking for. Builder will always keep on looking for another buyer who is willing to pay higher and sell that home to highest bidder.
So, there is so much you can go back and forth if you are settled that you want that specific home. - Thu Jul 24 2008, 06:06
In most cases if you buy house now it is available to move in by Oct 08-Jan 09. few exceptions are house is almost ready to move in. So, school opening logic may not apply well in case of new homes directly. It is possible that overall there are more homes in market (new +resale) and less buyers. Depending on how desparate builder is, you may be able to get a good deal. Good luck.. BTW, how much they are selling for now? - Fri Jul 18 2008, 18:42
I am not sure what is your commutte criterian, but San Ramon, CA has similar rated schools as Cupertino (API, etc). Home prices are much lower, newer homes and feel of familiy orientaed place with parks, lirary, new schools etc.... Only bad part is commutte - depending on ur location - Wed Jul 16 2008, 14:30
None in San Ramon. Due to great public school system, there are no private schools developed in San Ramon. You may find many private schools in Walnut Creek, though - Tue Jul 15 2008, 07:03
