Thanks so much, all. Monica McNamara's blog post was scary enough to convince. And thanks, Andrew- good to have the "did happen" to add to the "could happen". - Sat Oct 11 2008, 12:42

Rahul, I'm pretty sure that there is an error in that listing. It appears that the agent somehow forgot two 0's. In 1994 it sold for $900,000, so it's safe to assume that the house is now listed for around a million (+) - if it's a real listing at all. I couldn't find any info on the realtor's site. - Sat Oct 11 2008, 00:30

(Sorry, Chris, for confusing names earlier. I was responding to Peter) Peter, though I'm sure you're enjoying this exposure, please bear in mind that you are most likely alienating buyers. You are snarky and unprofessional. Your listings are unremarkable and your attitude is bad. Worse, your ethics are questionable. Those of us who move the market along in times like these prefer to work with people we trust- people who are knowledgeable (comes from continuing ed, whether professional or through peers) and who inspire confidence through more than chest-pounding. Hopefully you don't come off as arrogant when dealing with buyers- they'd remember you more clearly than the property, and with a negativity hardly
'conducive to quick sales. "Do Yourself A Favor and Go Out" and ask PROFESSIONALS what you could do to really be successful. Try listening when people offer advice (especially if you've asked for it)- it might reduce your need to market out of scope. - Mon Sep 8 2008, 16:22
I'm not using the Trulia QandA to sell anything at all, Chris. You asked for the public's opinion of your properties, as opposed to other agent's (a ploy to get buyers to view your homes, undoubtedly). So I gave you mine. What does it matter if I even know where Stoneham is? A listing is a listing. Your question doesn't just post in Stoneham. And yes, it's true: enough pics and buyers don't need to waste their time and their agent's time on properties they know they won't like. In this market, there are more than enough listings to view that buyers know they like well enough from the posted pics. At 3-4 showings a day and no sale, that's a lot of wasted time/gas all around. If you honestly just want the public's opinion of these houses because you're showing but not selling, show the problem area. Good luck, Chris. - Mon Sep 8 2008, 09:02
As Jane Q. Public I can tell you that Vera Lane would end with a drive by if it were a blind date showing. That would be a shame, as it's quite nice, but the exterior is in dire need of a facelift. Even if dragged in past the green I'd not be able to get over it. I'm with Chris on Waterhouse Rd- what are you hiding? As a pro I'd expect that you'd know better than to post exterior only with 80 percent of us shopping online. No interior pics=nothing worth seeing there. Not to mention the waste of space the pool pics are when there are as many NOT interested in a pool as there are interested. So basically, I don't think anything at all about that house since there's so little to think about. Virtual tours, my friend! Perhaps you'll have something more interesting to show the next time you try sliding around Trulia's TOS. - Mon Sep 8 2008, 00:19
