My agent doesn't have any answers for me, I'm not sure that she actually knows what she is doing when it comes to REO's or if its just Countrywide that is the confusing factor. This house has been empty since January and I would think they would want to get the foreclosure done and over with as soon as possible. And now I'm learning that there is a possibility that the house can be sold out from under me if someone decides to buy it on the day of foreclosure. And if that is possible (though unlikely that it would happen) how can this contract we have be valid? Any info on that? - Fri Aug 22 2008, 07:03
No one is telling us anything beyond that the contract is still supposedly legal. They won't be able to finish the foreclosure preceedings until the first tuesday in oct. The house is vacant, but the title company says it still is titled to the people who defaulted. This is all so confusing. - Thu Aug 21 2008, 21:56
Best not to dwell on the past, but if you really want to know, look up your counties appraisal district online, they usually have a search engine that will tell you the current owner as well as past owners of the home. - Thu Aug 21 2008, 21:20
