I will follow through with your suggestion and check the city records. Possibly, I'll hire an appraiser to assess the actual square footage under Connecticut law as well. I'm guessing Real Estate Commissions Officers get these sort of inquiries all the time. I hear this is a common problem--homes being advertised for an amount of square feet, and they don't actually match-up.
