Thanks for the responses everyone. I actually ended up pulling my deposit because of concern over the asbestos and the train which runs right along next to the houses. The houses really are beautiful and the construction looks to my untrained eye to be quality. But the risk of living near the asbestos is just not worth it to me. I do hope the people who end up buying there are aware of the risk they are taking. If they decide to go ahead once informed, then that is on them, but they need to be informed.
