why would you move to Alaska?

It's true there is no state income tax and no sales tax. It's true oil money funds some nice things (like the performing arts center) and it's true citizens get oil dividends in October every year. When I lived there mine ran between $800 and $1500 per family member...and yes, that IS taxable. It's not for everyone (thank God) but it's pretty and the drinking water is fabulous. - Thu Apr 3 2008, 14:30
