Thanks Mark, but I am not in financial difficulty...just not rich. I do not want to tie up otherwise liquid cash in a big down payment with current market conditions. - Sat May 3 2008, 07:26
Dude. I just spent 4 days in El Paso with my realtor looking in the west (79912). I loved it compared to the east (79936 and 79938) and the north east (79934). My opinion! Prices are a little higher there (west), but the terrain and views are great. The house that are all 10yrs old or newer seem to be about the same in all the areas. I have also researched the schools and they seem to be better in the west. Good for the kids and resale I am supposing. I do have a friend living in 79938 (Tierra de Estes). He likes it and got a 2000sf house with pool about 6 months ago. I have another colleague that lives in Horizon (79928). He likes it there at it appears your money goes a little further. Check with your insurance company regarding flood insurance before buying. There are alot of areas in the west and upper valley that may be in high risk flood areas that carry with it mandatory flood insurance at a premium. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 19:06
Go to http://www.elpasocad.org and click on "appraisal roll." Enter property address and you will find most everything you need to know about the tax for that property. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 18:54
