I know 7 months is a long time to wait for a buyer. Have you considered the idea of renting your home? A lot of my friends gave up on selling & are renting. They are happy that they are now making some money. At least until the market gets better. Then they will go back, renovate a little & sell later. My husband & I just bought a home in Michigan & that house sat empty for a year. Now we did get a great deal on it, however, to the owners it is now off of their hands.
I would advise you to do a search on your home. Go online & enter the criteria that should easily match your home & see if it appears. Number of bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, year built... You should get lots of links to your house. If not, then your realtor has some serious work to do for you. The house we bought did not appear at all. We only saw it in a drive by. I think that is why it sat so long without any visitors. Something to think about. Also, lots of good quality photos really sell a house. As a buyer, any house that did not have any photos, I did not even look at it. There are too many houses out their right now. You need a great shot that makes an on line looker want to stop & actually want to visit.
Best wishes & I hope you sell you house today! - Tue Jun 24 2008, 10:44
