My wife and I are snowbirders from Canada and cash buyers (no mortgage req'd) to about $130K. We are looking for a winter, retirement home (single family) with 2 to 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a 2 car garage, built after 1993, on a lot about 7,500 square feet. Ideal home would be about 1,200 or so sq. ft. with a lanai and a pool and it would be on or near a lake, river, pond or canal. Cosmetic and other minor repairs are not a problem with the right property.

We are NOT city dwellers and a rural home would be ideal as we love trees, water and space.

We are looking in an area south of Sarasota down to about Rotunda and from the gulf east to around North Port.

We will be in Florida on December 15, '08 (for one month) to view properties with the view of purchasing a home at that time. We look forward to working with a realtor.
