I think you should be contacting a lawyer rather than posting a question on Trulia. They'll usually hear you out and answer your question for free. - Tue Jun 16 2009, 11:00

We're homeschoolers. Good news there too. Indiana and Kentucky are both homeschool friendly.

In terms of distance from downtown, Indiana does get rural more quickly than Kentucky, especially if you get away from I-64. - Tue Sep 9 2008, 12:45
We're in the middle of a move too (but from Ohio). Here's what I've learned so far:

Indiana just raised their sales tax. Kentucky taxes your cars when you first move, then there's just registration. Overall tax burden is very similar (Kentucky is 25th, Indiana is 28th).

Floyd county schools in Indiana are outstanding, Oldham county schools are tops in Kentucky. Other counties in either state are average or poor. Greatschools.net is a good resource for that. - Thu Aug 21 2008, 11:45

Buying a house after owning it for a short period

Well, as buyer moving to Louisville, I can tell you that I'm not considering offering anyone a dime above 2005 prices. It sounds like you paid about 155k - that's what I'd be offering, so after expenses you'd take a hit.

As a seller in Ohio, I can tell you that you can talk to 2 or 3 realtors for free and get their ideas. That's what I'd do. - Wed Aug 27 2008, 07:19
