Yes, I have bought two properties in the last year that way. At first I thought it could not be done after the sherriffs sale but then I figured out a new approach and it worked. Call John @ First Financial Resource 616-299-0757 - Yesterday, 11:17

There was a new law passed Dec 2007 that makes it a non taxable issue. Anyone in this business should know about it. Check with your tax preparer. Of course if you love the IRS just send more money than you have too. They won't mind at all. - Thu Jul 10 2008, 15:36

The redemption period on our Michigan home is up tomorrow.

John answered:
Some times they offer cash for keys, say $500-$1000 for you to move out leaving the house in broom clean condition. If they don't do that or you decline they will take you to District Court to evict you. If no one shows up to challange them, a Court Order will issue for eviction 1 or 2 weeks later. There are ways to legally delay them but most people don't want to fight. - Tue Jun 3 2008, 13:52
