You're right. There are no 1 bedrooms for less than $1200 in Waikiki.
The "Concierge" is nonexistent and Waikiki is on electricity, not gas.

Hi Joe: www.hicentral.com is the multiple listing website and has a rental section. Sunday paper and Craigslist are other sources.
