I see that you are looking to move to NJ and posted for rentals in Secaucus. I'm not sure if the Secaucus area is a must for you or not. There are some great areas a little further west that are safe, clean and friendly, within some nice towns and are along the Nj train lines that you might like to look at. This is a tough question to easily answer. New Jersey has so many different types of areas, from suburban to country to city living. There are many demographic websites which offer a multitude of facts (most based on the US census). Choose a few towns and drive around. Get a feel for each community, go to the local police station and ask questions about crime rates. Visit the town's municipal building and pick up local information.
