Mrs. Blackburn - That is a tough question to answer. It changes from month to month and year to year. The bigger companies in town are Adams Cameron, Realty Pros, ReMax, etc..... These companies have more agents, typically list more therefore usually sell more. As a Broker of a smaller company here in Ormond Beach i would love to have the opportunity to talk with you on what we can do to sell your home. Look forward to speaking with you. - Roger Jones, owner/broker at Planet Realty of Florida........... more
Our web site lists homes and condos we have in our inventory for sale and for rent and you can also search the Entire Daytona Beach area MLS which includes Ormond Beach and Ormond By The Sea. To find homes for sale by owner you would need to search craigslist and other web sites.... more
If you want it listed on the MLS, there are some services that'll list it (and do nothing else) for $250-$300.
If you want to try to sell it on your own without listing it on the MLS, you can do that for free. Craigslist is free. There are some electronic flyer services that post on various sites. You can get a limited or trial service with them for free. There's no charge to put a "For Sale" sign up in the front of your house. And there are some FSBO (for sale by owner) services that aren't free, but will help you through the process for a few hundred dollars.
If you list with a full-service or limited-service Realtor, there is a charge. You'll pay a commission when your home sales. Commission rates are fully negotiable--you can probably find them all the way from maybe 2% to 7%. Usually, at the higher end, you get full service; at the lower end it's limited service. If your house doesn't sell, there's no charge.
