Jonathonjay, what do you mean by using the term "still" in your comment about the Riverwood neighborhoods? I hope you don' t mean by that term that you believe it won'f still be a great place to live sometime in the not to distant future.
It has been my understanding that the 3 Riverwood subdivisions have always been highly desirable real estate because of its well constructed homes, low crime rate and friendly neighbors. They are within walking distance of not just the Russell School but also St. Ferdinand Catholic School, not to mention at least 4 churches. There are also parks and stores and restaurants just minutes away. And they are a short 2 miles from I-270.... more
I have lived in the Apple Valley subdivision in Belton, MO for 12 years. There are familes and single home owners here plus a few homes that are rented. Like anywhere there are people that maintain their homes very well and those that don't. My neighbors are great. I am also a realtor, if you would like to call me with questions about homes in the Belton area my name and phone number is: Kay Hudson 816 838-1734 .... more
Well the way I see it is yes it could add value to the house but only to a very small group of buyers. Most people buying homes are families and I'm sure most parents wouldn't be wanting to raise children or grand children around something like that.... more
The high school is located at the mall since the old one since the tornado. They remodled a big box store and spent approx 300k to fix it up. They are going to rebuild the high school at the same location and will be ready in 2014 they say. This is a great place to live and raise a family! Let me know if you have any more questions!... more
Unfortunately, crime is up all over! It is up to all of us as citizens to keep an eye out for suspicious happenings, and call 911 when in doubt. It's always better to be safe, than sorry! If we were all more aware and more willing to get involved maybe we could change the pace of things. I suggest you talk to your local police about starting Crime Watch or Neighborhood Watch groups in your area. Getting to know your neighbors is a huge part of keeping crime down.
On the news a few days ago, I heard the police admonishing the public for leaving articles in our cars, apparently we are making it too tempting for criminals. That's a darn shame that 'we' are told to 'not tempt' the criminals, but unfortunately... that is the way of the world.... more
Southampton is a great area - we sell and buy homes there all the time. It consistently maintains its market value - it has a very diverse demografic which makes it popular with young buyers. The homes are beautiful, and neighborhoods are friendly - give us a call or email if you need more specific information. hartmanandwynn.com or 314-374-7653 or firstname.lastname@example.org... more
As much as a REALTOR may want to answer this question to protect his/her clients, a REALTOR may not do so without going against the Fair Housing Act that prohibits what is called "steering." None of us, for example, can tell you about the racial mix of a neighborhood. I would suggest that the people who can best answer that type of question would be those who actually live in the neighborhood and the local police. You can also go to www.crimereports.com or www.felonspy.com and get some information from those types of websites (although I do not know how accurate they are). Another resource could also be the local newspaper. For example, The Kansas City Star occasionally does articles on where the less desirable areas are and what the local political, community and church leaders are trying to do about them. There are plenty of resources out there for you to do your own homework...but a REALTOR is not one of them.... more
If you happen to have an iPhone with Siri, you could ask her that question. Siri learns your location and can let you know exactly how far both are from your specific location.
Another quick way to achieve your goal is through google maps. Type Louisiana, MO (or any specific location) Click "Search nearby" and enter what you are looking for (i.e. bank, shopping, etc.).... more
