Yvette, the best way to find these homes is to contract a realtor and ask for their help. Otherwise you would need to pay for a full appraisal. Public websites data is notoriously dated as are county and city tax records. Do yourself a favor and call a realtor.... more
Great question. There is so much that we do not know about your situation.
1. Ask the owner, "Is this house good?" and they will answer.
2. You could ask your best friend, "Is this house good?" and they will have an answer.
3. Or you could hire a professional and they can show you the attributes that make this home good or not so good. This would include an inspector and/or appraiser and/or real estate professional.
Taking into consideration your objectives, constraints, time objectives, risk aversion and financials all place an instrumental role in determining what is good for you. A good house at a bad price may not be all that good.
