To find out if the home is in foreclosure check your county clerk for a foreclosure filing. In order to foreclose the bank has to file legal documents called a "Notice of Lis Pendens" followed by an actual 'Complaint for Foreclosure". Those documents are filed with the County Clerk's office. You may be able to find them online.
If the home IS in the pre-foreclosure stage, and you have a valid lease and are in compliance with your lease, then you don't have to worry about anything just yet. Even if the bank were to take back the home, in New Jersey, they have to honor your lease as a new owner. It is very possible the owner is trying to work out a mortgage modification with the bank and could even manage to retain ownership if they can accomplish this goal.
I have attached a link to the NJ State Department of Community Affairs information for tenants whose landlords are facing foreclosure. I know it's scary but it's not as bad as all that, you have rights, as does your landlord, and the bank has to honor those rights.... more
Online is very very competitive on rate/fee that Banks normally can't compete with .. well the reason being that online has lower overhead costs; therefore, they pass it on to consumer via rate and fee. If your paper is not perfect, don't even try ... you will lose your initial deposit and appraisal cost. You can fax or email as attachment .. they accept all those forms ... but you will not be able to meet them in person (unlike banks). Full doc is mandatory and it also seems like that they cherry picking "A paper" customer only.
Ewing is an excellent place to live. I do so myself. There are certain pockets which have higher crime areas than others just like any other town. Shoot me an email and we can discuss the specifics about your situation.... more
I live right near the college of NJ more toward the trenton side of Ewing. Where you are interested in is more toward the Pennington, Hopewell side of Ewing. While that area will have more traffic due to 31 and the 95 entrance, it is toward the better half of the town. Ewing is a great place to live. I've lived there for 4 years now and people are very friendly and are more community based then some of the more "expensive" towns.

Why is "Address Not Disclosed"?Some of my listings do not show the address, some do. Why are some not disclosed and how can I show the address in Trulia?

Thanks so much Nicki for your question. The going rate for a realtor to list your property for rent is one months rent. This is split evenly between the agency who lists the property and the agency who brings about the tenant. What do we do for the fee? We advertise in local papers and internet sites, we list in the MLS and we provide credit checks for the prospective tenant and landlord. We draw up the lease, get signatures and attend a walkthrough before the tenant moves in. Having said all of this, I would be pleased to list your property for rent. I will hope to hear from you, Sue DeHaven, Weidel Realtors, 609-737-1500 ext.231... more
The mountain view section of Ewing is pretty much the nicest (also most expensive) You may have a difficult time finding homes there at the low end of your search and you may have to negotiate (quite a bit ) to get into the top end but this is definitely the nicest. Sends to the Lore school for elementary and many clients I have sold in this area have been happy (most discriminating opt for private schools or move to neighboring Hopewell as a result)... more
