Finding a rental apartment can be less stressful than you think.
I will be happy to provide you with a FREE service called Listing Book. Listing Books provides every property listed with the Multiple Listing Service.
I will set up an account for you that you will then own. Simply enter your search criteria and everything that matches your search will be delivered to your account.
If a property that is over your price limit is reduced into your range, you will be immediately notified.
When new properties are listed on the Multiple Listing Service that meet your search requirements, you will be immediately notified.
This service is free to you and does not obligate you to me or any other Realtor; you get to pick with whom you wish to work.
The minimal information I need to get you started is your full name, email address and $ maximum. You will control the rest.
Contact me at gail@GladstoneGroupRealty.com or 631-425-6150 and I will get you started.... more
Hey, I would go with a hotel. There are some companies that specialize in short term apartments, but I've never heard of only 5 days. Google hotels in sunset park, I think there39;s one on 47th. Good luck! Be sure to read through the reviews too!... more
Yes, anything listed here could be gone. Rentals don't get updated very often, from what I am told. You also have to watch for scams -- NEVER send money to an owner out of state or in another country.... more
Unclear are you looking to buy or rent; if purchasing begin researching areas of interest now, have your financials in order and visit with any licensed loan officer; also choose an agent to work with. If looking to rent, you can begin now as well....... more
While it doesn't look like our listings show anything available for your range (http://www.trulia.com/for_rent/NY/Brooklyn,5123,Gravesend/#for_rent/5123_nh/700-800_price/), I would recommend investigating your options with an agent:

My thoughts are as follows:
1) Try calling the broker at the office she works for.
2) Go to NYC.gov and see if the agent is actually licensed by the department of state.
3) Did the agent actually show you the interior of the property? If not I am worried that this may be a scam.
4) Check property records on www.nyc.gov (go to ACRIS) and see who the owner of the property is.
5) Contact the owner via phone, letter or simply ringing their door bell and explain to them what has happened, see what they say.
Usually an agent will not give out the owners phone number just as they would not give the owner your phone number until the deal was 100% consummated. You can try to have another agent help you, just make sure you tell them the whole story. If you want call me and I will see what I can do.
