The communities of Galloway and Hilliard are probably the closest "suburbs" to Interstate 70, West of Columbus and still considered "Columbus". There are some who disagree, but I think too much further West (West Jefferson for example) and you're not really in Columbus.... more
That's Columbus Public, and they have various options in that area as far as which school they can attend. For rentals, we manage several on that part of town and for singles and doubles it is a good area for rentals as the prices are low and the rents high. There are a few subsidized complexes in that area that keep the larger buildings rents low, but single family and 2 family units rent well.
You have some really good criteria but more questions would need to be answered. What do you like in a neighborhood for it to be nice? Check the state of Ohio's website for school rankings as well.... more

You can also check out school district report cards at the web reference below. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. I'd be happy to mail you a relocation package. I'm not much of a sports fan...but let me give this a try. We have major league soccer, the Columbus Crew. We have major league hockey, the Columbus Blue Jackets, we have arena football whatever that is...the Columbus Destroyers. We have a triple A baseball farm team, the Columbus Clippers. For years (20 something I believe) we had the NY Yankees triple A farm team, but they left. The Clippers are now a farm team for the Washington Nationals (?)
Columbus does not have a professional (major league) football, baseball or basket ball teams. Baseball and football loyalties are divided between the Cleveland and Cinci teams.
Columbus is such a college town when it comes to sports, lots of Ohio State support.

Golfing? That's professional sports... Memorial Tournament is coming up. No this is not the place for that answer though because golf is not a team sport professionally, is it?... more
