According to the Fl Dept of Heath the cancer cluster has to be investigated further. In fact, this is right on the D.O.H website:
"The Florida Department of Health has determined that further review of the data related to the elevated rates of pediatric brain cancer in the Acreage is needed and the investigation is now in the second level.
Palm Beach County Health Department Director, Dr. Alina Alonso has said, “We are very concerned for the families who have been affected by cancer in this area. I can assure you that the Health Department is continuing to assist with this investigation and I hope we can find some answers for the families in the Acreage.â€
The initial report showed increased rates of total cancers particularly for the years 2000-2007. Females, particularly children, experienced an increased rate of brain cancers during this period. Highest rates of brain cancers were seen in 2005-2007. "
A Realtor has not only a legal obligation to disclose but an ethical obligation as well. It is incumbant upon the Realtor AND THE SELLER to disclose those items that materially affect the value of the property. There is no question that the cancer cluster investigation, no matter its outcome, has a material affect on the property values in the Acreage.... more
The best thing I can tell you is that I can send you a list of homes that sold in the area for the past year for you to see trends. With most areas, even in Wellington, a year ago to now there has been a decrease in sales prices, so perhaps I can compare those to Loxahatchee for you.
Feel free to call or email Linda@LindaBassitt.com me with your contact information (email etc.) to send you the list of homes sold.
You can also search my website http://www.LindaBassitt.com for homes for sale (click on "MLS Search") and search by map location, developments, etc. in advanced search.

I live in Loxahatchee and love it! I am a teacher and my kids love the schools. If you are planning a re-location it IS a good time...all of the homes are much more reasonably priced now and you still get the great rural community and atmosphere. My husband has been transferred or we would be staying. If you are interested in checking out my house I NEED to sell because my hubby has to leave April 1st leaving the boys and I to finish out the school year. We want 400K to pay off the debt and the realtor--We have 1.5 acres, a 3400 SF house w/ 4BR/3B upgraded with granite, wood and tile flooring throughout, stainless appliances- 12 foot ceilings-3way split. Out building, 36x16' heated pool-wooded lots all around and a private road with no through traffic or HOA! I can hear the lions roar in the morning if out for a walk because we are so close to Wellington and Lion Country Safari. Check it out at Realtor.com MLS#R2881327. Hope you like it!... more
