How would you describe it? Professional community? Safety/crime?</title><link>http://www.trulia.com/voices/Home_Buying/How_is_the_area_of_Wikiup_in_Santa_Rosa_How_would-50217</link><description>Answer by Cindy Brandon, MBA, CRS, GRI, EcoBroker: I live in Wikiup and love it.   Its a great community primarily consisting of homes that were built in the 70's but there are also some homes less than 5 years old.   There are homes in all price ranges including some properties with acreage and great views.  The people that live here tend to love nature and we have a lot of it, including mature heritage oak trees, deer, great bird watching, etc.&#13;
&#13;
The folks that live here are primiary professionals, there are some retired people here as well.  We have winemakers, bankers, consultants, hoteliers ... and realtors.   A lot of people walk to exercise.  We have a great hill for that and its an excellent work out.  There  are no HOA dues and there is a tennis and swim club that is popular and affordable.&#13;
&#13;
There are a few great buys in Wikiup.  I would keep it on your list.&#13;
&#13;
Best regards,&#13;

&#13;
Windsor is a family oriented community and the Town makes safety a priority.  You should check out the Town of Windsor's website.  Here's a link to a page that states that Windsor crime rate per capita is the lowest in Sonoma County.  http://www.ci.windsor.ca.us/index.asp?NID=175.   In addition to information about crime rate, their website has a wealth of information about the Town that you might find interesting and informative.&#13;
&#13;
I've sold many homes and commercial properties in Windsor, California.  Finding the right neighborhood for you will depend more on the schools, lifestyle, and property characteristics you are looking for.   Windsor has it all from vineyard/country properties to live/work communities.  People that want a single family home with  larger yard on city services tend to lean toward the east side of Hwy 101.  Most  new construction since 2000 has taken place on the west side of 101.   Lot sizes tend to be smaller but the amenities offered are more contemporary.&#13;
&#13;
I think its important to become educated about the community and the best way to accomplish this is to pay us a visit, talk to people, city workers, store owners etc. that live here and then come to your own conclusion.&#13;
