Hello Supr- I'm a Mass licensed builder and used to run the Warranty and Service Dept. for a residential developer. Correct- it is one year. But there is a lot of grey area in what exactly is covered and who is truly responsible (financially) for different items. Check your P&S Agreement, if its from the Builder. It will state exactly what is covered. Check all the fine print. Naturally, the builder will try to get out of incurring any large expenses- if they can. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.
Thanks and Good Luck,
Ken

It's ten years in California and I think that is set by national standards. If no one posts from MA call the state contractor licensing board to find out.
