Hello. I live in Fountain Hills. Personally, I love the more "small town" feel of FH. The area is beautiful - mountains on every side of the city. FH has a couple of well known art festivals each year. Several options for golf, of course. I love how quiet it is. Very little "through" traffic in FH. You are either living in FH or you are driving through to go to the mountains. So traffic is considerably "light" compared to most areas in Phoenix. You'd see quite a few golf carts being driven around town. Lots of biking, walking, hiking nearby. Some nice family-owned restaraunts in town (pizza, greek, italian, chinese, mexican, french). Parks and Recreation is active, photo clubs, art clubs, book clubs, tennis, swimming, churches - it's pretty much all here. What you won't find are a lot of visitors (yes, winter residents, but not a lot of vacationers right in FH) and shopping is limited (which keeps me within budget each month). Hope that helps. I've looked at several homes myself over the last couple of munths. Let me know if you have any more specific questions and I'll try to help, if I can. I am not a realtor.
