Hello Steven,

Certification is now necessary with some BPO companies, and recommended by others. Most BPO companies don't care if you are certified, but they do care about the quality of your work. Certification is meant to get you on the right track with BPOs because they are different from CMAs. If you are a licensed agent in a state where BPOs are legal for the purpose they are ordered, you are good to go. We do offer coaching and 1 year of support for $45. Sometimes getting into the systems to get BPOs can be tough or involve a wait period. We also help with that.

Note there are reputable organizations that do offer formal certification type programs -- to simply give you a leg up and networking opportunities.... when starting, find a good, up-to-date list of BPO companies with vendor sign-up links.

Good luck with your BPO career!

Hello Steven,

You do not need to be certified to conduct BPOs. NAR offers a certification course now.

No, you do not need to be certified. It's just an extra title/designation you can put after your name but it's completely unnecessary.

All you need to know is how to complete a CMA, very similar to bpo's.

Short and Simple, no you do not have to be certified. Banks and 3rd parties like to see that you have been a licensed agent in the area for some time.

A BPO is something you do not something you are and you have to be a licences Real Estate sales associate to do them. You would have to do whatever your state requires education wise to be licenced. Once you are licensed and have choosen a company you may begin looking for lenders for which to do the BPO's.
