buying a home in this area and possibly a fixer up that we can live in and renovate then either rent out or sale for a profit when we leave. However don't have much money to put down so we are thinking of getting a VA Loan for this. I'd love to get some feedback on what your thoughts are regarding this type of loan. What are decent neighborhoods around Marietta? How much out of pocket cost would be pay when purchasing our first home? Thanks for you help!!

I know you are so excited about your relocation. Marietta is a beautiful small town with a lot to offer you and your husband. Yes, VA is your best loan. I am not a loan office but i can tell you if you have VA elibility take advantage of it. I have several loan officers that you can talk with about your loan, and I am sure you don't want to talk about your finances over this website. We have several areas that are very nice for first home buyers. Email me and I will put you in touch with several professionals that can help you with a loan. And that should come first! Then I can set you up for listings in your price range to be sent instantly when a new listing comes on the market. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Christina,
I have lived in Marietta for 16 years and love it. There are many wonderful neighborhoods, but you will want to consider other aspects of living here. I suggest you find a Realtor you feel comfortable with and with their help you will determine the best area that fits your financial requirments and your social requirements. Marietta is a community that has been experiencing growth and rebirth, so working with someone who knows the area and the projected changes will help you in your decisions. Also, the agent can help you find a good loan officer to help you decide if VA, FHA or Conventional is the right choice for you. Good luck and Welcome!

I will leave the question about decent Marietta neighborhoods to a qualified REALTOR in that area.

Best wishes!

Hi Christina,
I think the best thing to do to begin with is talk to a lender. Once you have the money questions answered a Realtor could much better help you pick the neighborhood based on how much you could borrow. There are wonderful neighborhoods in Marietta in all price ranges. Marietta is a big area and I could better answer your question once we know where to begin. If you want to contact me I will be glad to share the names and numbers of several lenders that could help you get started.
