Bad credit, need to rent. Options w/out co-signer?

a cosigner?Hubby & I have bad credit, but make over $100K together; any good options for us to rent in Chicagoland w/out a co-signer?

What is the reason for the bad credit? If the reason is due to some sort of hardship such as illness, loss of job, etc., I usually reccomend that my clients submit the reason in a hand written note along with the rental application. If you can provide supporting documentation or perhaps a reference letter on your behalf that may be helpful. If you can afford to pre-pay some of the rent in addition to the security deposit, that can be helpful as well. Good Luck.
