Hi Irma and Margaret,

I just want to chime in to note that the Trulia Voices community is made up of many who aren't Real Estate Professionals and thus can answer this question without violating Fair Housing Laws. Hopefully a local non-pro will see this question and provide an opinion on this. Otherwise, I think Margaret has given you some great suggestions.

Best Wishes,

Irma,
Even if one of us knew the answer to this question it would be against the Fair Housing Act to answer. Positive answers are just as much against the rules as negative ones.
I always tell someone if they are want to get the feel of a neighborhood to visit it on the weekend, or after work.
Maybe you can take your dog for a walk in the area and meet some of the neighbors.
I remember when my kids loved Long Beach because they could see more 'dirt' (ground) than they could in Hollywood. LOL
