My office is in Eden Prairie so I am constantly driving throughout the area with clients. I honestly have to say that the desirability of an area all depends on price. Upper -tier homes surround Olympic Hills Golf Course, and then there are new neighborhoods like The Woods of Riley Creek that are very nice.
There are a lot of nice subdivisions along Pioneer Trail, between the 169 and Flying Cloud Airport. One thing you will want to consider is your proximity to the small airport in Eden Prairie. While a small airport, there is still some noise in certain areas of town. You will also want to consider any commute you might have. Some people like to live near the 169 or 494 so they have easy access to Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
If you have a specific price range, let me know and I can send you a list of homes currently for sale, so you can see what you get for the money. It will also give you an idea of neighborhoods and help narrow down places you might like to call home. Welcome to Eden Prairie!
Eden Prairie is a very nice suburb! There are many nice areas. Is price a consideration? One of my favorites is the Olympic Hills area.....many beautiful homes, great golf course community, convenient to freeway access and shopping!
I hope that helps......
Thanks, Todd Norsted
a) will being near a school be important to you? - Eden Prairie is a good sized city that may determine your need if being near a certain elementary school or the intermediate, middle and/or the high school
b) is getting onto the freeway important to you...as above, Eden Prairie is big and if adding a few more minutes to your commute matters or doesn't then location may or may not matter
c) what type of home are you lookiing for? size, price range, year built...within each of the Eden Prairie zip code areas 55344 55346 55347 you've got a variety of homes.
I just moved away from the west side of Eden Prairie (near Dell and Valley View) and I loved it there (but got married and now am in Edina)...it was actually closer to Chanhassen than the main part of Eden Prairie...
