Average Utility Bills

Asked by Richard Albright, 08534 Tue Feb 10, 2009

We currently live in NJ and have the opportunity to relocate to the bay area. We are considering relocating to Tracy. What utility bills can we expect to have to pay? Adding up the utilites menitoned on the city of Tracy website alone come out to $381 a month, is this correct?

Utility bills can vary so much depending on time of year, age of house, use of air conditioner and heater.

Also, if you are talking about the community of Mountain House, then there are some "standard' fees.

I can speak from experience of living in Tracy for the pat 14 years, my home is 2400 sq ft, and built in 1994. My PG& E (gas and electric) run anywhere from $90 - $380 -- if it's HOT and my family insists on using the air conditioner. Air is not necessary all summer as we have the Marin influence that brings fog, cooler air, and a breeze in the evenings, so air is rarely needed 24/7. My City of Tracy water bill runs about $120 a month, includes garbage.

As I said - this is for Tracy - not Mountain House.....
