Hi Amanda -

Are you in West Chester, Ohio (Butler County)? If so, you would want to go to the Butler County Auditor's website and you can look up the tax records by address, tax ID number or name of owner.

Good Luck,

When ever i hear this question, its for a reason that answers one of a couple questions:
1. How much can I sell my hbouse for since my neighbor just sold thier house?
2. Can I find out how much they paid so I can offer a low ball offer on the place
3. I wonder how much they paid for that house.

If you are asking for #1, then hire a realtor as lots of factors can determine value. If it is #2, then you are low energy and should just offer what you feel it is worth and don't worry what they paid. You really don't know what they paid in other stuff and all you going to do is put someone on the defensive. If it is #3, then knock on the door and ask or leave a hand written note asking them to call you.

Hi Amanda:

You can go to the county and find that information on the Tax record; or your realtor will be able to tell you. If you post the address here, we might be able to help you.

or Zillow works too. Go to the Zesimates and Charts, it will show you the last sold price (the owner's purchase price)

However, to save another question - don't go with their estimate, it's not accurate yet (another toopic) - you definitely need to talk to a Realtor for an accurate comp.

A side comment - what the seller paid for the house has very little to do with the market price of the house.
