I agree this is a beautiful area and commutes are relatively easy but can be daunting depending on which end of "town" you live and when you need to commute. When should you move? Start looking now to find the home you want so that you do not have to settle. This is a great place to live and has much to over so start enjoying it as soon as the weather warms up! Our winters are mild so I wouldn't worry about traveling weather too much. Housing invetory as of today is at approximately 1700 homes in Dauphin, Lancaster and Lebanon County. This is a great time for buyers to set the price and "make an offer the seller can't refuse".

Hi. It is a 2 story but does have a first floor master bedroom and walk-out basement if that helps. Very nice home with upgrades such as solid pine 6 panel wood doors, gas fireplace, custom tiled bath with 2 person corner whirlpool tub. Nicely decorated, move in condition. Let me know if you have more of an interest.

I have a 3 bedroom home for sale by owner in the Wheatstone development in Palmyra. Very nice location, 5 minutes to Hershey. Home built in 2002 by Garman builders. if you're still looking. I can email you an info. sheet. Would like to stay in my home until 10/30/08 because we have just started construction on a new place but we could discuss if needed earlier. Asking $258,000

Hello Buyer! I have a home in Hershey that I would like to sell. It has 5 beds and 2 full baths with 2700 sq. feet. Did you find anything yet? What is your price range? I am the owner of the home.

We lived near Hershey for several years, and still have many family members in the area. That area of central Pa has continued to grow and thrive, & housing developments have filled many former 'cow pastures' that supplied milk to the Hershey Chocolate Factory. It continues to be a beautiful and diverse community, with small towns and (still) rural areas vying with growing small cities.
Ask yourself some questions! What is most important to you?
Short commute? Municipal services like public water and sewer systems?or some acreage around your home to lend privacy?
Easy access to cultural events, and intown conveniences? Charming older home or a neighborhood of similar homes that are relatively new? What about schools for your children? lower Tax rates?
ALL of these things are available, but probably not all on the same property. (unless you have an unlimited budget!)
If your potential move time is not looming too close, plan to take a trip and aquaint yourself with the neighborhoods. A good Realtor can be a GREAT help, and there are a lot of good ones out there. Helping people answer find answers to those questions is what we do. Look for someone who you are comfortable working with, and who has experience in the areas you ar considering.
Then ask your questions and enjoy the hunt!

Hi D.K. - Well when you are ready is always the best time to move!
Of course - seriously though do you have chidren or schools to consider? This is a factor not to be left out!
You are looking in an area that has some wonderful amenities and schools. Get all the school data together for specific stats. I provide that sort of info FREE on my site.

Another item is the weather or should I say the time of the season! It is ALWAYS easier to move in good weather so PLAN your season well D.K.!

Anyway you look at this question you also need to understand that the local market is providing a really good playing field for buyers these days. You need a Realtor to guide you through the possible pitfalls.
Hope that helps!
