One of the agents in my office had a bunch of units and rented them to other agents in the office. They didn't think it was effective and stopped.

I do know that there is a company called "cell a home" which consumers text an id and receive a text message flyer of the home and then text you the agent their information.

Cindi... we are all curious to see how you are using text to generate leads.

I'd love to know more about text messaging and how Cindi uses it. No one in my area uses the Talking House radio system and there is probably a good reason for that. I was reading the thread "to brochure box or not" (or something like that title) and it made me think of the system. My feeling is that is could be a nice extra if it works well, i.e. clear, not staticy, with a short message for a quick drive by. However the prices seem ridiculously expensive and there are many for sale on ebay and craigs list. I've noticed they are snapped up quickly on those sites.

Thanks for all your input. Do tell more!

Yes Cindi, I am curious also. I would love for you to make an additional post. This is one of the things I love about this site. I can learn so much from the Realtors and consumers alike. Thanks for participating.

Cindi, I am curious to see how you are generating leads with text messaging? Are you using the company that texts information about homes including a photo? Do tell your method.

Jessica... as for the talking house. I believe this is the radio system and not a phone in system, correct? I do not think it generates buyer leads because they simply stop at the street and turn their radion stations to listen. There is no way for you to track the number of buyers who listened and no way for you to contact the buyer unless they call you, correct? I could procure you more listings if this is something your competition is doing but from what I am hearing that might not be the case either. A call capture number would be better.

I've used a simialr system and did not find it effective. Text messaging is my new tool....and it generates lots of leads.

No, I've called when passing homes that advertise it. Wasn't impressed.
