The advice you have gotten here is sound. I have sold antique homes as well, and understand that there a much more limited buying audience than there is for a more modern home.
As with any good marketing plan, you have to consider what the profile of your most likely buyer would be, then target your advertising in that direction. One ot the things that has helped me to sell antique homes was to advertise in magazines and websites that specialize in older homes. When you review your agent's marketing plan, make sure you address these sites with him/her. Your most likely buyer will come from someone that already loves this type of home.

Everyone here has sound advice. You need to be smart and really market an Antique home - the buyer pool is limited but usually passionate about what they like. One way to expound on the marketing your real estate agent is already doing for you, is to advertise your home with an online listing site specializing in Historic Homes and Antique Properties, as Dan mentioned below. I agree with Kristina regarding comparing your home to others out there on the market. As a Home Stager, I am focused on the home showing to it's potential, regardless of the homes age or character. As many older homes often have smaller room sizes, I would stand in the doorway of each room and take photos. If you see more furniture than the room, remove non-crucial pieces that highlight the focal points of the room.

I would recommend talking with three Realtors and comparing how they work and their proposals.
Does your company offer relocation assistance?
Most companies offer help to employees that are being transferred, and before you invest a lot of time and effort on your own, ask the HR department how they can help you with your home.
If they do not offer relocation assistance, then i would definitely discuss your situation with Realtors who have experience in selling homes of people in your situation. IMHO if there is not relocation package, then you should negotiate a package (which is a list of what your company will pay you in order for you to move).
For example, in some cases if you need to sell your home to buy in your new location, and the home values are a lot different? What happens if your home will not sell for what you paid? Ask these questions BEFORE you transfer.

Talk to your Realtor & see what kind of solution you can come up with. Compare comparables in the area to see what antiques are going for. Has your home been advertised in Antique Homes Magazine? Folks look to that magazine when they are looking for that particular type of home.
Your home is special and unqiue, and needs a special buyer. I suggest you sit down with your Realtor and review your marketing stragedy and take a look at the price through what is selling in the area, esp comparing it to antiques. Review what has worked, and what hasnt worked. Also, have you and your Realtor walk through the house and make sure it appealing to the eyes of the buyer. I hope this helps!
