The best time to come to the greater Phoenix area is NOW! Go directly to the airport and catch the first flight out of there. :)
Right now, it's about 65*, clear, sunny and absolutely gorgeous! Best months here are January thru December, LOL If you're wanting to avoid the highest heat, then October-May would be the primary months for visiting us.

In addition, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is located very close and has flights in and out to destinations not usually on the route of larger airlines.....Lots of golf courses...no condo projects that I know about - yet. ;-)
There aren't too many modern amenities in Queen Creek and I'm not aware of any condos. A few major chain retail stores have finally opened but still waiting for a movie theater. The width of the streets in certain communities are a bit more narrow than others, but that's just probably because the developer wanted to pack as many homes in as possible. There are plans to eventually bring an extension of the freeway down to Queen Creek, but that's probably many, many, many years away. The rush hour drive in & out of Queen Creek for some is not the most favorite activity to participate in. There are 2, maybe 3 ways to get in/out of Queen Creek & during rush hour, it's quite busy . But I've heard that the sometimes quiet nights and starry skies are quite nice. I think the main reason for the very cheap real estate in Queen Creek is based on the location. Remember, the key word in real estate is location, location, location. So, I digress.
The best county? Well that depends on each person & what they want to do, what they like, where they work, acceptable crime rates, etc.
There are some golf courses, but any where you live in the Phoenix metro area, you are only 5-10 minute drive from a golf course. There are so many golf courses in the Phoenix metro area, that you could probably golf at a different course every day for a year.
There aren't too many other activities to do in Queen Creek. Oh! I forgot to mention that if you are an ATV or a dirt bike enthusiast, you'll have plenty access in Queen Creek.
Queen Creek is mainly a commuter town and not necessarily a hub of urban activity, but it is definitely a place where cheap real estate prices abound.
I live in Queen Creek, Maricopa County- so we are a part of the Town of Queen Creek. In Pinal county, you are not afforded the Queen Creek Town Services. Pinal County is serviced my Rural Metro for fire services vs Queen Creek Fire Dept as one example.
There are several golf courses in the area- Los Colinas-public, Poston Butte- in Anthem (Florence). Johnson Ranch are a few. There is also a private course at Encanterra- a new 55+ community built by Shea Homes.
The airport is about an hour away.
Queen Creek has a lot of new shopping, new library and equestrian center. There is talk about building a multi-generational center as well.
There really are not any condo projects in QC- you would need to look in Gilbert, Tempe and Phoenix.
I think I recall your posting a previous question about QC. I would recommend two things to you:
1. Take a long drive around Queen Creek and check out the community first-hand. Notice the distance, roads, scenery, mountains, golf courses, amenities, etc., etc. If it has a good 'feel' to you, then
2. Seucrre the services of a local, reputable, experienced Realtor to work with you as your Buyer's Agent. Her or she will be able to discuss the differences between Pinal and Maricopa counties, taxes, property values, etc., and will be able to help you set up a comprehensive search of all the hokmes that fit your needs. It's the ONLY way to go.
