There is much talk about the new media real estate buyers, sellers, investors and the internet.

Asked by Chris Goodmanson, Long Beach, CA Tue Jan 6, 2009

What are your top wants and needs, I like many other realtors are here to serve, help you achieve your goals? What would you like to see from your Realtor or real estate professional? How can we best serve your wants and needs now and in the future?

I think the focus of Chris' question is being missed.
The question is directed to "NEW MEDIA" and those who actually recognize what it means.
The growth of this category, if plotted on a spreadsheet, would look iike a vertical line. Growth, therefore is discussed using "ORDERS OF MAGNATUDE' measures.
Let me be frank, if you don't know what I'm talking about, this question is not for you.
However, those who do recognize the challenge that equates to being drawn and quartered. You can only stretch so far. Broad band, mulitplatform, mulit-disapline,multi-media, multi-user, access controlled virtual dashboards wil prove essential to the real estate professional who intends to grow their business with those who are the growth segment.
It is extremely likely, posting this question on Trulia acually MISSED the intended market, 'cause the intended audience is on the new media platforms.
Crhis, what dasboard have you found most agile in the new media segment?

As real estate professionals I think the first question we need to ask our clients in today's age is "How do you want me to contact you?" With younger clients I'm finding the overwhelming answer is text. The second question is "How do you want to handle the signatures on the paperwork?" In today's environment I'm finding that e-signatures are the way to go. It's faster, convenient, and legal in most circumstances.

Spoken Like a True "Disbeliever"! Perhaps one of the Thousands of Real Estate Agents who utter words that condemn the New Markets, just so they can feel better about not taking the time to learn them!

"Is that Internet Thing Still Around" ... Homer Simpson

What? Putting Listings in a computer? That's ludicrous! I can just fill this form out and fax it to my local MLS, and they can put it in a book that they deliver each week .. what's wrong with you people?

Electronic keys? What's wrong with this combination box? You guys are crazy!

Email on my phone? What the hell for, I get it on my Commodore 64 already! This stuff has to stop!

ect ect ect

I think the number one thing clients want is communication. And, that is helping them like you say.

Just be honest and upfront. Thats it. And make sure you are doing your job for the client and not yourself, meaning money doesn't do justice. If you see a happy face on a homeowner when you hand them the keys.

Or when you finally see a family move out of a home that they owned for 5 years after the bank takes it from them, but you can put them in a rental right away, thats what its a bout. Helping people in need.
