Salyer, Home Buyer in Westerville, OH

Good place to live?

Asked by Salyer, Westerville, OH Tue Dec 2, 2008

I'm looking for a good area to live in, but I'm pretty sure I dont have many options. I'm looking for a safe area on the north half of columbus but I can only afford 130k or below so that cuts out most of the areas I've been looking. I work out of Lewis Center and am trying to stay near Westerville.

I have some friends who are willing to room with me, but I wont rely on their income (all younger and none have career level jobs). Any suggestions on areas? I'm looking at Devonshire but I'm not confident that the area is safe, or would be safe within a few years...

Help the community by answering this question:

Dear Salyer: Does it have to be a single family home, or would a condo be OK? In this price range, a condo is definitely within your reach.

Currently in Westerville "proper," there are 4 homes for sale in the $130 range and 4 more in the $135 to $140 range. What kind of condition does is have to be in?----I know of a bank-owned For $137,000 that has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. I think it's a "steal" but it does need a lot of cosmetic work.

Please don't be discouraged as to your price range. I feel certain you can find something you can be pleased with........feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss this further.

Best of luck!

Hi Salyer! I currently have a listing in the Tremont Gardens area, which is a little area in Clinton Township located just south of Worthington and just north of Clintonville. They have their own police force and are serviced by Worthington Fire, but require Columbus taxes. Easy access to I-270, SR-315, and I-71. There are some great opportunities available. Let me know if you would be interested in more information. And in most cases, the services of a buyer's agent are at no cost to you!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Westerville does have properties in your price point typically located in the southern part of Westerville, or possibly foreclosures, but they do exist.

If schools are not important to you, there are nice neighborhoods at this price point north of 161 off of Cleveland Avenue and in the Sharon Woods subdivision.

You can search all homes for sale on my website below. Should you need assistance, please feel free to contact me. I would love to help :)

Hi Salyer:

There are homes in Westerville that you can purchase for this price. They tend to be further south, or are bank owned properties, but they do exist. If schools are not important to you, there are nice areas in north Columbus that fit your budget as well. Try a neighborhood such as Sharon Woods or areas north of 161/Cleveland Avenue.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance. You can find all homes for sale in Central Ohio on my website below.

Why dont you work with a buyers agent you might have you on a watch list for foreclosure within your budget it could take a while however you might be able to purchase a home in more secure area.
