Hi Paula,

I'm Dawn Lewis and I am an expert n the Chula Vista area. I have sold homes and townhomes here for over 20 years. There are some great upscale apartment/townhome communities in areas like EastLake and Otay Ranch. What exactly are you looking for. Buying or renting?

anyway I just wanted to tell you about my place because it looks as if I am going to relocate too !! I have lived in this condo for 10 years and love it. It is in my personal favorite part of chula vista. Rare "old town" in the quiet center of the older part of the city. They put a lot of money into it last years and it is very pretty. We are in the heart but it is very quiet near the bay and literally nestled between two parks ( beautiful views out of picture windows in both bedrooms. Across the street from the library, police ( very safe) , restaurants, everything. Unit has designer touches... marble floors, huge refrigerator, thick carpet, newly redone shower 2 huge bedrooms 2 1/2 baths, private, corner unit in back against green park, town home 2 story, full size washer and dryer in unit , lots of storage space, so much newly redone, from toilets to water heater to dishwasher. 1 friendly quiet under 50 pound pet OK ( will even include doggie door if needed) . This is the perfect place to live to be near everything but relaxed paced and within walking distance ( out your door... air.. no car ) to everything and a short drive away from anything else you could want. I walk safely everyday and it lifts my spirits as the park is so beautifully done. Jacuzzi in complex and olympic sized pool in park rec center. anyway I hope I got everything. Again, wherever you end up I hope you are happy. Thanks again ... desireemichaels@cox.net sincerely, Desiree Morgan

There are many upscale areas in 91913,91914 and 91915. These are the newer areas of Chula Vista. This area has been hit hard with foreclosures and prices are way down. You may want to rent for 6 months and see which areas you prefers (schools, etc). Then try to buy and take advantage of the prices that make San Diego much more affordable than 2-3 years ago. Homes that used to sell for $500K are now $300-350K. The only tip when you are able to buy, is to watch out for which areas have very high Mello-Roos taxes. These are taxes that resulted from the developers needing to put in roads, lights, sewers that have been passed on the ot consumers. Some are pretty hefty and add a big chunk to your mortgage. But otherwise there is a great new mall, lots of shopping, new restaurants and lots of nice houses/townhouses in the area. Enjoy! Vikki Kuick, san Diego Realtor

If you could swing a SFR, you would save a lot in HOA fees and will see a greater appreciation in the future. Single Family Residences include land and land is real esate, condos are more of an opinion of value. When the market goes up people will buy houses until the market pushes them out, then they have to settle with neighbors above, below and next to them.... visit my website to find homes in Chula Vista starting at $199k. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
