When you sell, I assume you want the best price for your home.
Homes that sell within the first 30 days sell at closest to asking price most of the time. In my market homes that are on the market sell for 93.6% of asking at 120 days. Within 30 days it's 98.6%

There are many factors that determine the average time a home stays on the market. As mentioned below Some subdivisions are more desirable then others. Schools are also a factor in some cases. If you need additional information regarding a particular area of San Antonio you can reach me at susieriojas@kw.com.

If you take the direction of your professional realtor and price the home what the current market will bear, it should sell within 30 - 60 days. There are certainly other factors which come into play which a realtor cannot address without seeing the particular house you want to sell. Try http://www.sabor.com/images/upload/mls-stats0508.pdf for current MLS statisitics by type of sale.

For single family homes, it's currently 87 days versus 66 a year ago. To be honest, I'm not sure if they still use average or if they've converted to median, but should be resosnably close for large amounts of data.

As stated by the previous posts, individual homes within the same subdivision can vary significantly, so the average for the whole market is pretty much just an interesting number when considering a specific situation.

Days on the Market, or DOM, varies tremendously according to the areas, schools, time of year, etc. Traditionally, it was safe to estimate 90-120 days, but now, it's a bit longer than that in general. Some factors also include home condition, curb appeal, flexibility of showings, etc. One important key to selling a home fast is to make the home more appealing to the eye than it's neighbors. Then, if you have a few homes in a neighborhood selling, when someone comes to see one of them, they'll see them all, and choose yours over theirs because of it's condition. Feel free to email me at stevemalinoff@aol.com if you would like any additional information.

60-65 days in San Antonio. BUT that is the city overall. It varies greatly from neighborhood by neighborhood.

It depends on which part of town your are looking at. My personal experience of late is 90-120 days on average. Although some fly off the market and others languish. 12-18 months ago it was 30-60 days. We are, like many others, in a buyers market and things have slowed down some.

Give me a specific location and I will give you a more specific answer. You may reach me at (210) 273-9082.

Good luck!
