Home Buying in Morgantown>Question Details

Mike Warren, Home Buyer in Kingman, AZ

I am considering relocating to Morgantown, West Virginia. Are there newer small homes IN THE CITY? I would

Asked by Mike Warren, Kingman, AZ Mon Jun 9, 2008

want 2 BR, 2 BA, 2 car garage, and basement. Many of the homes in the city appear to be very old, with no site parking or garages. Thank you. In the upper $100K range would be OK. A townhome with the above would be OK too.

Hi Mike, I would be happy to work with you in finding a home in Morgantown. If you could contact me and give me additional info that would be great. I can then enter your criteria in our MLS and you'll automatically receive current listings and new listings based on that criteria. I have a couple of properties in mind but it would help if I knew what area of Morgantown you're most interested in. I'll look forward to hearing from you. You can email me at mhartsell@frontiernet.net or call me 304-698-8877. Thanks, Missy Hartsell, Realtor, KLM Properties, Inc.

Hi Mike,

I am with Alliance Realty - check out our new website - AllianceRealtyWV.com. There are options to view ariel photos of homes which will allow you to see a true picture of the neighborhoods and may assist you in your home search. Morgantown is growing very rapidly so there are plenty of newer homes and townhomes on the market. If I can help just let me know!

Hi Mike. When you say that you'd like to live in the city, are you saying that you like living close to downtowns? Being "in the city" is a little moot here, relative to other places. There is a well-defined downtown, and there are well-defined sections of the Morgantown area (e.g., Sabraton, Westover, Star City, Cheat Lake, South Park). All of these are within 20-minutes of each other, so people tend to think of neighborhoods rather than in/out of the city. The area you're noting is South Park. For people who like grand, older homes with big trees and demographic diversity, it's a great place. If you'd like a new home, try searching with one of the other neighborhoods I mentioned as keywords. Try oldcolony.com
