Noise Levels in Mission Park / Robins Run neighborhood in Santa clara

Asked by Rhee Sap, 94086 Sun May 18, 2008

We visited several open homes this weekend in Santa Clara Mission Park / Robins Run neighborhood. We liked a couple which are in our price range. But I think this area is directly in the flght path and a train track is near-by.
Anyone familiar with the area , please advise if the noise levels are bearable.

Noise? Absolutely. You have the flight path of San Jose Airport as well as the train coming by. I used to live down the road off Lafayette and Plaza Escuela and belive me it was noisy. The train come by as early as 5:15 in the morning and the planes go until about 10:00 at night. Unless you want that wake up call in the morning, I would suggest some other areas. Most of 95054 Santa Clara does have the airplane noise, however, about 10 years ago the airport upgraded many of the homes in the neighborhood with double pane windows and a/c. I also lived in a home right across the freeway from Rivermark and the noise was there as well. I must say though that after about a week you really don't notice it anymore. You just have to ask yourself if it is something you don't mind getting used to. Hope it helps.

you may want to check out the neighborhood at different time of the day and evening to determine how it sounds. I believe the airport may have an eleven PM curfew.
