if a real estate contract does not have a closing date is it enforceable

I would seek legal advice. That does not make it void, but you may have issues if a party is trying to "back out" because of that type of typo.

Contracts are different in each county. For example, here in Montgomery County if the tax proration is left blank it is assumed "short proration". If you are working with a Realtor, then I would definately ask them. If not, please let me know and I will refer you to an area specialist.

That depends on the language of the rest of the contract. Why didn't it have a closing date when all contracts have closing language. Was the date left out for a reason and what was that reason? Your realtor or there's should have a reason and be able to answer that for you.
