Are you finding "The AJC" a great way to get your listings noticed???

Asked by Al Bowman, Locust Grove, GA Tue Feb 3, 2009

I have Out of Town Sellers that feel like "the local paper" is going to help move the property we currently have listed. Are you finding that the Paper (AJC) is a great tool or has it been a waste of valuable time and money?

I feel the paper is not really the best way to get a listing attention. I advertise 90% on the internet and agent to agent advertising with the rest being posters in my local coffee shop and so forth. I have several free methods of advertising and it seems to work out in my market.

You can also check realtor.org and see the atatistics of how effective newspaper marketing is in regards to internet marketing. Its less costly and reaches a HUGE number of people rather than just the local readers.

Thanks Jen, I feel the same and I as well list with lots of websites for internet marketing. The biggest issue now is that the price is NOW what it should have been a year ago. I supose it is only my fault for taking a listing that was over priced to begin with.

I don't think the AJC is the way to get a listing noticed. Most people are on the internet. You can use a site like propertypreviews.com for free virtual tours and then upload it to a bunch of different sites. Most sites are free to upload to but some have a nominal fee. I post my listings to about 30 different sites in addition to FMLS and GA MLS. I would make sure you have your listing on both MLS sites. That is critical to get the most exposure. Marketing is tougher now than it used to be but listings really need to be everywhere on the internet. I suggest marketing it to the agents that have sold or have a listing within 5 miles of your listing. You can also do reverse prospecting on FMLS and find the agents that have potential buyers. Best wishes.
