Doris,
According to census data Bath, NC and Blounts Creek, NC have a higher median age then the other surrounding zip codes. I am attaching a website that will show you the data if you go down towards the bottom of the page to where it shows population breakdown by male, female, and median age and click on the two zip codes with the higher median age it will give you the statisics for those areas which I gave you above. If you need any more help or a top agent in those areas to help you find a home just drop me a line I would be glad to help. In case the site does not give you the zip codes to compare here they are. 27889 is Washington and then the surrounding areas are 27837,28586,27821,27865,27806,27817,27808,27884,27814

Doris,
Let me refer you to source we use when working with clients looking for a retirement/senior living community. Washington, NC is a very nice town. You should be happy there. Let me know if you would like to consider other areas in NC that may be just as nice and maybe even more afforable. Or, if you just need some advice on how to screen through the different places in Washington.http://www.retirenet.com/location/communities/131-north-caro…
