If you are looking in Sunnyvale, there is a new home development called "The Villas at Cortez". The schools are Vargas Elementary, Sunnyvale Middle, and Homestead High. Overall this compares well with Gables End Schools. There are only 4 of 16 homes remaining, and there are 1600 square foot units from $620K, and 1800 square foot units from $698K. Feel free to check them out on the web at http://www.villasatcortez.com.
I have shown the Gables End Townhomes to clients. Have you been there? It depends on how you choose to live. Those townhomes are nice, floor plans regular, and location is close to freeway. Here is the link for Gables End in Mt View:
You need to go to any new development with your own realtor to represent and negotiate for YOU. Registor your realtor the first time you go there, they wont let you do so after.
There are other Townhomes, and also single family homes available in 750K in Mountain View and Sunnyvale. You need to decide for yourself where you would like to be.....Explore the neighborhoods and the cities you would like to live in, and then make an informed choice. Are you working with a good Realtor? Do sit down with one and go through the process thoroughly.
Patrick is right, the townhomes at KB Homes at Bordeaux have even better schools - Ellis Elementary, Sunnyvale middle and Fremont high, than the KB Homes project on Evelyn. Let me know if you are interested?
Let me know if i can be of help, do check out my website and testimonials.
be well and safe, regards,
Can't really comment on Gables End, however I have seen them from 101. The combination of the location off the freeway and the EPA Superfund Site status has not been a big draw in my checking them out.
Have you considered Sunnyvale? The KB Communities (Evelyn Glen and Bordeaux) are in a decent commute location, not too far from the downtown and the new development project, and good elementary and middle schools - Braly ES and Peterson MS. They are not so close to the freeway. I think they represent an overall better value. KB has mixed reports on some counts. Consider using an agent for your negotiation and utilize a home inspector prior to closing. The KB home warranty is comprehensive. Utilize the inspection to create a punch list for closing.
Hope this helps.
