Realtors are precluded, by law, from "steering" potential buyers into or out of neighborhoods, and "safety" could be an issue that could easily be misconstrued.
The best thing to do, is to check your local law enforcement websites, which often allow you to enter in a particular neighborhood... sometimes by intersections, and sometimes by actual addresses, and they will give you a summary of recent crime statistics in the area.
The best source for this inormation is to be in contact with the local police department or county sheriff's department. they have access to the most current and reliable information and are generally very willing to be helpful.
